Give it a watch.

I wasnt expecting too much from this flick. I went ahead and watched it because I'm a huge Gabrielle Union fan.

I was impressed with how there were small details about the aesthetic of the film that captured my interest. The small mundane font that was used for the opening credits made it have an indie film feel, which immeadiatley caught my eye. As the film went on, I could see how the dialogue was slightly disjointed but got to the point in a timely way. Union's performance was pretty awesome, just because she has such a command of the screen. She really personified that emblem of a mother trying to protect her babies. The writing of the film wasn't the best. That did get mildly in the way of the overall effect the film could've had. In short it was an enjoyable thriller/action flick.

All of a sudden, everyone is a critic.

It's a shame people these days just can't stop to enjoy a film for what it is and how it was made, and all of a sudden are critics.

Comparing this to a big A-list blockbuster Hollywood production is unfair. This was a B-grade low budget film with B-grade actors, although Gabrielle Union acted better than some A-listers I've seen lately. Props to her and hope to see her in more films. Even her kids Ajiona Alexus and Seth Carr's acting was convincing.

The film was tense and thrilling. The writing and screenplay was excellent, and seemed as real as it could get. The directing and editing on point. The pacing and length was perfect.

Ignore the wannabe critics, this film was entertaining start to finish.

A well deserved 8/10 from me, and not even close to the undeserving 5/10 is currently has.

Too serious for its own good

A film like this could have been lots of fun if it was self aware and made the effort, but it takes itself too seriously, presenting itself as dumb rather than cute. Good at times, but mostly not so much. Definitely one of the weaker thrillers this year.
